Helping every learner improve with a structured, personalised literacy tuition.
Riverina Literacy Specialists provides face-to-face, evidence-based literacy support that builds skills, confidence, and knowledge in every child.

Our structured programs focus on reading, spelling, writing, and comprehension, using clear and consistent methods tailored to each learner. We work with students who have dyslexia, dysgraphia, or other learning differences, those who may have gaps in their schooling, or children who simply need extra support to grow in confidence. Alongside tutoring, we offer guidance for parents and caregivers, helping families better understand how to support their child’s progress and engage effectively with schools.
Every journey begins with a 60–90 minute consultation and assessment. During this time, we review background information, complete key assessments, and identify your child’s strengths and areas of need. From this, we create an Individual Literacy Plan that outlines clear goals, strategies for learning, and practical ways you can support progress at home and in partnership with school.
Each session is carefully designed to match your child’s goals, focusing on the essential skills of reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. Lessons use evidence-based practices that break learning into clear, manageable steps, ensuring students gain both skills and confidence.
Depending on your child’s needs, they may receive one-on-one instruction or, where appropriate, take part in a small group of up to three learners. In every case, teaching remains highly structured, personalised, and focused on achieving measurable progress.
- Session Length: All lessons run for 45 minutes.
- Frequency: Weekly sessions are recommended for steady, consistent progress.
- Planning: Each lesson is based on your child’s Individual Literacy Plan, ensuring instruction directly targets their goals.
- Delivery: Lessons include explicit teaching, guided practice, and review to reinforce learning.
- Progress Tracking: We regularly monitor growth, adjusting strategies where needed and sharing updates with families.
Small group sessions may also be offered at the specialist’s discretion. Groups are carefully formed to ensure that every child continues to receive individualised attention and high-quality instruction.
To ensure students get the most out of their sessions, we ask that families arrive on time and bring any required materials (such as notebooks or reading texts). Regular attendance is essential for progress, and we encourage open communication between parents, students, and tutors so that learning remains consistent and well-supported.
